This Friday, 30 May, just over two dozen young people completed the basic course in Document Handling and Management Techniques, promoted by the Cape Verde National Archives Institute (IANCV), in partnership with the Institute for Employment and Vocational Training (IEFP). The closing ceremony was presided over by the Minister for Modernisation of the State and Public Administration, who highlighted the synergy between the public administration and the vocational training sector.
“This training course combines almost everything that we have in terms of the Public Administration and the employment and vocational training system, because while we consolidate the quality of the Public Administration, preserving our history and relevant information, we simultaneously promote professional qualifications for employment,” said Eurico Monteiro, who also oversees the employment and vocational training sector.
In fact, in this area, the minister emphasised, Cape Verde has made a “very interesting” journey, which is an important gain for the country because it feels that today people are not abandoned to their fate.
“We don't have an unemployed person, a person with an idea, a desire, or an initiative without finding an ecosystem that is capable of offering them the opportunity and supporting them technically and financially, from exposure to the final stage of implementing their idea,” said Eurico Monteiro, for whom the training that has just been completed is of the utmost importance for an organisation, because the quality of the decision often depends on the set of information that is made available”.
The young people, who after two months will leave certified and trained in techniques for handling, organising and managing archives, will be prepared to respond to the needs of public and private institutions, as well as the IANCV itself, that need professionals in the area of document management.
