
With the aim of fostering open dialogue and placing greater emphasis on the well-being of its staff, the Government organised a talk on the theme “Mental Health: a priority”, aimed at staff working within the Government’s Executive Office.
The talk was led by the psychologist Dirce Piloto Varela; the methodology used enabled participants to explore and reflect on a range of issues relating to mental health, emotional wellbeing and the importance of adopting strategies that contribute to a healthier and more balanced working environment.

At the meeting, Dr Geraldina Almeida, Director of the Human Resources and General Affairs Directorate within the Cape Verdean Government, also reaffirmed her commitment to continuing to implement strategies and mechanisms to support staff, and to provide monitoring and preventative measures that contribute to the-well-being of staff by promoting a healthier and more people-centred organisational culture.

The symbolic opening ceremony was attended by the Secretary-General of the Government, Dr Lediane Barbosa Moreira; the Director of the Directorate of Human Resources and General Affairs at the Office of the Government of Cape Verde, Dr Geraldina Almeida, and the Director-General of Planning, Budget and Management (DGPOG) at the Office of the Government, Dr Elisângela Cardoso Vieira.
